Resident Engineer Construction & Building Services (Contract position)

Level 4 site monitoring (full time). The construction period is 12months. The construction of a Waste Water Treatment Works in Libode which entails earthworks, reinforced concrete to design levels with M&E installation

Minimum Qualifications:

Appropriate BSc, BEng, BTech degree, preferably registered as a Professional Engineer/Technician with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA). Applicants must have 5 to 10 years post qualification experience in construction of Civil and Building Services.

Professional Engineer/Technologist (East London)

Element Consulting Engineers is looking to acquire the services of a skilled Professional Engineer/Technologist to head the Contracts Unit for their East London office.

Candidates should have a BEng or B-Tech in Civil Engineering with at least 10 years post graduate experience in the Contract Administration and Inspection (including Site Supervision) stage of projects.

Candidates must be professionally registered with ECSA.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) or Technologist (Pr Tech Eng)
  • Professionally registered with SACPCMP
  • Minimum 10 years post qualification
  • Proficiency in the management and implementation of Contracts using General Conditions of Contract, NEC, Colto and Fidic
  • Proficiency in applying and interpreting project specifications, and standard specifications such as SANS 1200 and related SANS specifications, Colto and OSH Construction Regulations
  • Proficiency in Contract documentation and management, including conducting site and technical meetings, preparing minutes of meetings, certifying interim and final payment certificates, dealing and adjudication of claims and certifying the various completion stages
  • Experience in managing and mentoring project engineers, engineer’s/employer’s agent representatives and other site staff
  • Experience in conflict management, including contractual dispute resolution procedures
  • Professional Services Tendering experience
  • Experience in the compilation of Contract Tender Documentation
  • QMS experience
  • Deltek Management System experience (or similar)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Projects
  • HDI status will be an advantage

SAGE VIP Payroll Administrator / Creditors Clerk (Durbanville)

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Collecting, calculating and capturing payroll information timeously into the payroll system, payroll journal and adjusting journals and reconciliation entries relating to the payroll.
  • Ensuring that all captured payroll inputs are accurate prior to payroll submission.
  • Performing Payroll Reporting as and when required.
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies/queries by collecting and analysing information timeously.
  • Maintaining accurate payroll and employee records by ensuring that all documentation is filed timeously.
  • Dealing with all payroll information accurately and ensuring that all such information is dealt with privately and confidentially.
  • Capturing Supplier invoices, payment requests, reconciliations.

Attributes required:

  • Full understanding of payroll concepts and remuneration principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of relevant, South African legislation (BCEA, UIF, SDA, PAYE, WCA, COIDA).
  • Strong Numerical skills & Computer Skills.
  • Understanding of payroll legislation and processes.
  • Ability to interpret different earning types to relevant tax legislation applied.


  • Grade 12 / Senior Certificate.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ payroll experience (Sage, VIP Payroll).
  • Relevant certificate /diploma will be an advantage.
  • Sage VIP Payroll Certificate/experience.
  • Computer literate - MS Office.
  • HDI status will be an advantage.
